Narratives of identity in sicilian culture

The work studies the ways in which the Sicilian produce representations of man that can hold its head high in front of family. Friends and authorities. Values that from the background Sicilian identity, such as honour, respect, family, generated in a context of life constitute the common values shared by the majority, but at the same time, can be a useful meaning to the substrate mafia subculture to create wide acceptance of a criminal phe-nomenon.
